Orientation Programme for 2018-19 Batch B.F.Sc Students Organised at Dr. M.G.R FC & RI, Ponneri

Dr. M.G.R. Fisheries College and Research Institute, Ponneri a constituent unit of Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University organised orientation programme on 05.09.2018 for the newly admitted B.F.Sc (2018-19 batch) students of the institute. All the 63 students along with their parent/guardian attended the event. Dr. B. Ahilan, Dean i/c of the institute delivered the welcome address and introduced all the faculty of the institute to the students and their parent/guardian. Then the newly admitted students one by one self-introduced themselves to the gathering. Mrs. S. Aruna, Asst. Professor, DAEM who is also the co-ordinator of the newly admitted batch gave a presentation on academic rules adhered by the institute. Dr. Cheryl Antony, Professor & Head, DAQ and also the Vice- President of the students’ Association briefed about the students’ co-curricular activities. Dr. N. Jayakumar, Asst. Professor & Head, DFRM and also the Warden of the students’ hostel explained about the Hostel Rules to the audience. Mr. P. Velmurugan, Asst. Professor and also the Sports Secretary of the institute briefed about the sports facilities and activities of the institute. Dr. N. Muralidharan, Asst. Professor, DFPT explained the Placement Cell Activities of the institute. The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Mrs. Vimala Devi, Asst. Professor, DPHT who is also one of the counsellors of the newly admitted batch. Dr. C. Lloyd Chrispin, Asst. Professor, DFEES who is also one of the counselors of the newly admitted batch assisted the co-ordinator in organizing the program. All the teaching as well as non-teaching staff and students of the institute attended the programme.
