VOTERS AWARENESS CAMPAIGN ORGANISED BY THE NSS UNIT OF FISHERIES COLLEGE AND RESEARCH INSTITUTE, THOOTHUKUDI

The NSS unit of Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukudi organized a “Voters Awareness Campaign” on 23.03.2021 to ensure 100% voting during the forthcoming General Assembly Legislative Election to be held on 06.04.2021. All the staff and students of this institute enthusiastically participated in the campaign. Dr.B.Sundaramoorthi, Dean, Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukudi, emphasised the importance of voting and urged all to cast their vote without fail. He also expressed the importance of using the democratic right of every citizen of India. Students use pot painting and face painting to raise awareness about the importance of 100% voting. Students raised awareness by using banners and face masks urging 100 percent voting. Mr.Sam Daniel Raj, Mr.Jose Silvester, and Mr.Jeyaprakash, Zonal Electoral Officers for the Thoothukudi district, demonstrated the use of EVMs to the participants and also explained the different avenues available with the election commission to assist the public and voters. A video display was also shown to entice the audience to vote without fail. The event was organised by Mr.M.Muruganantham, Assistant Professor and NSS Programme Officer.
