75 th Republic Day Celebration at Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukudi

Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukudi, a constituent college of
Tamil Nadu Dr.J.Jayalalithaa Fisheries University, Nagapattinam celebrated the 75 th
Republic Day. The students, teaching and non-teaching staff of Fisheries College and
Research Institute participated in the programme. Dr.B.Ahilan, Dean, FC&RI,
Thoothukudi was escorted to the Dias by the Security Staff Commander, Students
representative, Asst. Director of Physical Education and the Sports Secretary. A guard
of honour was performed by the Security staffs. Dr.B.Ahilan, Dean unfurled the National
Flag and the College Staff, Students and Security Personnel honoured the National flag.
R. Pon Harsha and A. Diosnowin students of this college delivered their speech on
patriotism in Tamil and English respectively. Dr.B.Ahilan, Dean in his Republic Day
address reminded the sacrifices of those great men and women who played pivotal
roles in building the Independent India. He also spoke about patriotism in the present
day context and insisted students to be a job provider rather than being a job seekers
which would make our valiant freedom fighters proud. The entire programme was co-
ordinated by Dr.D.Natarajan, Asst. Director of Physical Education, Dr.K.S.Vijay
Amirtharaj, Sports Secretary and Dr.V.Senthilkumar, Associate Professor, DFEES.
