Regular in service training to Fisheries Department Staff

First Batch of Fisheries Departmental Training for Inspectors and Sub inspectors has been initiated during February 2016 and to be completed during August 2016. The training syllabus would includes various fisheries aspects on Fisheries Biology, Aquaculture, Fishing Technology, Fish Processing Technology, Fisheries Co-operation and Planning and Administration, etc. They have also been given training on soft skill management, disaster management, health management, stress management They have been taken on tour to various places of interest to get them hands on training exposure on promising issues of fisheries. The Departmental training would be given for six months period and the first batch includes twenty two trainees from State Fisheries Department. Spirulina Cultivation and Value Addition Training Spirulina Cultivation and Value Addition Training was conducted from 26.10.2015 to 28.10.2015 at Fisheries Staff Training Institute, Ashok Nagar, Chennai � 83. Fourteen trainees representing various districts participated in the training programme. Aspects such as Isolation of Spirulina from natural waters, mother culture preparation, media formulation for culture, culture monitoring and harvesting etc have been taught in the theory and demonstration sessions. A field trip to Nallayan Spirulina farm at Navalur has been arranged and the trainees have been given exposure on commercial scale of Spirulina farming. Second training on Spirulina Cultivation and Value Addition was conducted from 18.05.2016 to 20.05.2016. Fifteen trainees representing various districts participated in the training programme. Third training on Spirulina Cultivation and Value Addition Training was conducted from 30.05.2016 to 01.06.2016. Twenty trainees representing various districts participated in the training programme. A field trip to Sibin Exports at Palur, Chengalpet has been arranged.
