One-day Workshop on “Business opportunities in value added fish products” held at Fish Processing Incubation Facility, Nagapattinam under the Faculty development programme on 3rd December, 2019. Ten faculties from in and around Nagapattinam colleges and a program director from E.G.S Pillay Engineering College Nagapattinam Mr. S. Palanimurugan have benefited from this training program. Dr. K. Rathnakumar, Professor and Head welcomed the gathering and also gave the address on the need for the value added fish products and the various products that are available. Furthermore, he delivered a lecture on the hygienic handling of fishes and what are all the products that can be prepared from sea food materials. The trainees were shown around the facilities available in the centre and the utilization of those were explained. In addition to that, they also had practical exposure on puff corn packing machine, retort packing machine, fish pickle packing machine, bakery packing machine, solar dryer, tray dryer, cold room, blast freezer, etc.
