Students’ Association Inauguration at Dr. MGR FC&RI, Ponneri

The Students’ Association for the academic year 2018-19 was inaugurated at Dr.M.G.R FC&RI, Ponneri on 16.10.2018. Dr. Lakshmipathy, Principal, Sreedevi College, Ponneri and Senate Member, Madras University was the Chief Guest of the programme. In his chief guest address, he motivated the students to be very active in the club activities of the institute which will in turn develop their overall personality. New Secretaries of the respective clubs took oath signifying their responsibility and commitment. Dr.B.Ahilan, Dean of the Institute and President of Students’ Association in his address briefed the importance of leadership qualities among students. Dr. Cheryl Antony, Vice President of the Association and also the Coordinator of final year B.F.Sc students welcomed the gathering and felicitated the new office bearers of the association. The students also celebrated the World Food Day before the Inauguration. Commemorating the occasion, Dr.Manikandavelu, Professor & Head, Dept. of Aquatic Environment Management delivered a lecture about the importance of World Food Day celebrations. Mr. Gokulakrishnan, final year student took charge as General Secretary of the Association.
