Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University, India’s No. 1 ranked Fisheries University inked a Memorandum of Understanding with the Hawassa University in the delegation event held at the Conference hall, ARTP on 02.06.18. Mr. Ayano Beraso, President, Hawassa University and Dr. S. Felix, Vice-chancellor, TNJFU signed the MoU in the Presence of Dr. G. Jeyasekaran, Director of Research i/c, TNJFU and representatives (Dean and 3 Heads of the Departments) from Hawassa University, Ethiopia. On the first day of visit (01.06.18), a meeting was convened with the delegates in which faculty from Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R Fisheries College and Research Institute, Ponneri explained the various academic, research and extension activities carried out in the colleges and the constituent units of TNJFU. The MoU facilitates students and faculty exchange and collaborative research activity in the field of Fisheries Science between the two institutions. The understanding will also broadly cover certain specific identified areas of cooperation. Prof. P. Natarajan, Department of Biology, Hawassa University played a significant role in bringing this MoU to the University was appreciated by Vice-Chancellor Dr. S. Felix.
