TNJFU 8TH CONVOCATION

The Eighth Convocation of the Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University (TNJFU), was held at the Tamil Nadu Open University Auditorium, Chennai on 07.07.2023 in the gracious presence of Hon’ble Governor Chancellor Thiru. R. N. Ravi. A total of 349 graduates were conferred with the degrees ‘In-Person’ which included 138 B.F.Sc. (Fisheries Science), 33 B.Tech. (Fisheries Engineering), 33 B.Tech. (Bio-Technology), 37 B.Tech. (Food Technology), 21 B.Voc (Industrial Food Processing Technology), 15 B.Voc (Industrial Aquaculture), 9 B.Voc (Industrial Fishing Technology), 8 B.Voc. (Aquatic Animal Health Management), 32 M.F.Sc. (Fisheries Science), 4 MBA (Fisheries Enterprises Management), and 19 Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy). Further, a total of 34 persons will receive their degrees ‘In-Absentia’.

The Governor Chancellor presented medals for academic excellence and performance to the students. J. Iswarya, bagged 14 medals in B.F.Sc. A. Kamalii bagged 6 medals in M.F.Sc., K. Abarna received overall topper medal in Ph.D. degree programme. In B.Tech (Fisheries Engineering), P. Yazhiniyan in B.Tech (Biotech), S. Atchaya, in B.Voc (Industrial Fish Processing Technology) S. Naveena bagged the gold medal for securing university first rank.

Dr. L. Murugan, Honorable Minister of State for Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India delivered a Chief Guest address. While blessing the graduates, he urged the young minds to work for target of becoming a developed country by 2047. He also highlighted the scope for fisheries developments in the context of Utilization of available water resources to cultivate fish and shrimp production to compensate the global food demand and Expansion of fish culture activities to improve the fisherman/fish farmers’ economic status and also to provide employment opportunity. A new National education policy was introduced to promote the younger generation to become knowledge based leadership in our nation. He narrated that the Government of India has released sum of Rs. 35,500 crores during 2014 to till now for the fisheries development. Current fish production is 162.48 lakhs tons and it has to be reached to 175 lakhs tons during the year 2025. He was optimistic to increase the seafood export values to 1 Lakh crores in the coming year. Indian government has a plan to establish fishing harbor, fish landing center and cold storage room at par with US and European Export quality standard. Sagar Mitra scheme was implemented to make bridge between fisherman and government to solve the issue and improve the fish catch by recruiting qualified fisheries candidate at village level. Seaweed Cultivation Park has been established at the cost of 100 crores at Ramanathapuram district, Tamilnadu to increase seaweed production which is ultimately used for the animals and fish feed ingredients and bioferlizers for agriculture crops.

Thiru. Anitha R. Radhakrishnan, Hon’ble Minister for Fisheries & Fishermen Welfare and Pro-Chancellor of the University has announced 11 new awards for the fisheries graduate in the forth coming years.

Thiru. Mangat Ram Sharma, I.A.S., Additional Chief Secretary, to Government, Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries and Fisherman Welfare, Tamil Nadu and Dr. K. S. Palanisamy, I.A.S., Commissioner of Fisheries and Fishermen Welfare, Tamil Nadu and senior officials were the noted dignitaries graced the occasion.

Earlier, Prof. G. Sugumar, Vice-Chancellor of the University welcomed the gathering and presented the report of the University. In the report, the Vice- Chancellor briefed the genesis and the profile of the University; He elaborated the University’s significant achievements in its mandatory activities of education, research and extension through its 40 independent constituent units spread across the State.

தமிழ்நாடு டாக்டர் ஜெ. ஜெயலலிதா மீன்வளப் பல்கலைக்கழகம் 8வது பட்டமளிப்பு விழா

தமிழ்நாடு டாக்டர் ஜெ.ஜெயலலிதா மீன்வளப் பல்கலைக்கழகம் (TNJFU), எட்டாவது பட்டமளிப்பு விழா 07.07.2023 அன்று சென்னை, தமிழ்நாடு திறந்தநிலைப் பல்கலைக்கழக வளாகத்தில் நடைப்பெற்றது. மாண்புமிகு தமிழ் நாடு ஆளுநர் மற்றும் பல்கலைக்கழக வேந்தர் திரு. ஆர்.என்.ரவி, அவர்கள் 349 பட்டதாரிகளுக்கு பட்டங்கள் வழங்கினர். 138 இளநிலை (மீன்வள அறிவியல்), 33 பி.டெக். (மீன்வளப் பொறியியல்), 33 பி.டெக். (உயிரி தொழில்நுட்பம்), 37 பி.டெக். (உணவு தொழில்நுட்பம்), 21 B.Voc. (உணவு பதப்படுத்தும் தொழில்நுட்பம்), 15 B.Voc. (மீன் வளர்ப்பு), 9 B.Voc. (மீன்பிடி தொழில்நுட்பம்), 8 B.Voc. (நீர் வாழ் உயிரின நல மேலாண்மை), 32 M.F.Sc. (மீன்வள அறிவியல்), 4 எம்பிஏ (மீன்வள தொழில் மேலாண்மை) மற்றும் 19 முனைவர் பட்டங்கள் மாணவ-மாணவியருக்கு நேரடியாக வழங்கப்பட்டன.

மேலும், 34 மாணவ-மாணவியர் தங்களது பட்டங்களை தபால் மூலம் பெற உள்ளனர். மாணவர்களுக்கு கல்வித் திறன் மற்றும் செயல்திறனுக்கான பதக்கங்களை ஆளுநர் வழங்கினார். ஜெ.ஐஸ்வர்யா, பி.எப்.எஸ்சியில் 14 பதக்கங்களை பெற்றார். எம்.எஃப்.எஸ்.சி.யில் ஏ. கமலி 6 பதக்கங்களையும், பிஎச்.டி.யில் கே. அபர்ணா முனைவர் பட்ட படிப்பிற்கான பதக்கத்தை பெற்றார். பி.டெக் (மீன்வள பொறியியல்) பிரிவில் பி.யாழினியன், பி.டெக் (உயிரி தொழில்நுட்பவியல்) பிரிவில் எஸ்.அட்சயா, B.Voc. (மீன் பதப்படுத்தும் தொழில்நுட்பம்) பிரிவில் எஸ்.நவீனா ஆகியோர் பல்கலைக்கழக முதல் மதிப்பெண் பெற்று தங்கப் பதக்கத்தை பெற்றனர்.

மாண்புமிகு மத்திய மீன்வளம், கால்நடை பராமரிப்பு, பால்வளம், தகவல் மற்றும் ஒலிபரப்புத்துறை, இணை அமைச்சர் முனைவர் எல். முருகன் அவர்கள் சிறப்பு விருந்தினராக உரையாற்றினார். பட்டதாரிகளை வாழ்த்தி 2047க்குள் இந்தியா வளர்ந்த நாடாக மாற வேண்டும் என்ற இலக்கை அடைய இளம் பட்டதாரிகள் உழைக்க வேண்டும் என்று வலியுறுத்தினார். உலகளாவிய உணவு தேவைக்கு ஈடுகொடுக்கும் வகையில் மீன் மற்றும் இறால் உற்பத்தியைப் பெருக்குவதற்கு நீர் ஆதாரங்களைப் பயன்படுத்துவதன் நோக்கத்தையும் அவர் எடுத்துரைத்தார். மீனவர்/மீன் விவசாயிகளின் பொருளாதார நிலையை மேம்படுத்தவும், வேலை வாய்ப்பை வழங்கவும் நமது தேசத்தில் அறிவு சார்ந்த இளைய தலைமுறையை ஊக்குவிக்கும் வகையில் புதிய தேசிய கல்விக் கொள்கை அறிமுகப்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது என்றும் தெரிவித்தார்.

மீன்வள மேம்பாட்டுக்காக 2014 முதல் தற்போது வரை 35,500 கோடி ரூபாய் இந்திய அரசு விடுவித்துள்ளது. தற்போதைய மீன் உற்பத்தி 2025 ஆம் ஆண்டில் 175 லட்சம் டன்னாக உயரும் என்றும் கடல் உணவு ஏற்றுமதி மதிப்பு 1 லட்சம் கோடியாக வரும் ஆண்டில் உயரும் என்று அவர் நம்பிக்கை தெரிவித்தார். அமெரிக்க மற்றும் ஐரோப்பிய ஏற்றுமதி தரத்திற்கு இணையாக மீன்பிடித் துறைமுகம், மீன் இறங்கு தளம் மற்றும் குளிர்பதனக் கிடங்கு அறை ஆகியவற்றை அமைக்க இந்திய அரசு திட்டமிட்டுள்ளது. சாகர் மித்ரா திட்டம், மீனவர்களுக்கும் அரசுக்கும் இடையே இணக்கமான உறவை மேம்படுத்தவும், கிராம அளவில் தகுதியான மீன்வள பட்டதரிகளை நியமித்து மீன் பிடிப்பை மேம்படுத்தவும் செயல்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது. தமிழ்நாட்டின் ராமநாதபுரம் மாவட்டத்தில் 100 கோடி செலவில் கடற்பாசி வளர்ப்பு பூங்கா அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது, கடல்பாசி உற்பத்தியை அதிகரித்து கால்நடை, மீன் தீவன பொருட்கள் மற்றும் விவசாய பயிர்களுக்கு உயிர் உரங்களாக பயன்படுத்த வேண்டும் என்று வலியுறுத்தினார்.

மாண்புமிகு மீனவளம் மற்றும் மீனவர் நலத்துறை அமைச்சரும் பல்கலைக் கழகத்தின் இணை வேந்தருமான திரு. அனிதா ஆர்.ராதாகிருஷ்ணன் அவர்கள் வரும் ஆண்டுகளில் மீன்வள பட்டதாரிகளை ஊக்குவிக்கும் வகையில் 11 புதிய விருதுகளை அறிவித்தார். தமிழக அரசின் கால்நடை பராமரிப்பு, பால்வளம், மீன்வளம் மற்றும் மீனவர் நலத்துறையின் கூடுதல் தலைமைச் செயலர் திரு. மங்கத் ராம் சர்மா, ஐ.ஏ.எஸ் தமிழ்நாடு மீன்வளம் மற்றும் மீனவர் நல ஆணையர் டாக்டர் கே.எஸ்.பழனிசாமி, ஐ.ஏ.எஸ். அவர்களும் விழாவில் கலந்து கொண்டு சிறப்பித்தனர்.

முன்னதாக, பல்கலைக்கழக துணைவேந்தர் பேராசிரியர் கோ.சுகுமார் அவர்கள் அனைவரையும் வரவேற்று, பல்கலைக்கழக அறிக்கையை சமர்ப்பித்தார். பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் தோற்றம் மற்றும் வளர்ச்சி விவரங்களை விளக்கினார்.

மாநிலம் முழுவதும் உள்ள பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் 40 உறுப்பு அலகுகள் மூலம் கல்வி, ஆராய்ச்சி மற்றும் விரிவாக்கம் ஆகியவற்றில் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் குறிப்பிடத்தக்க சாதனைகளை விவரித்தார்.
