TNJFU Hosts Gunvatta Yatra on NABL Accreditation and Its Benefits

The National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL), a constituent board of the Quality Council of India, in collaboration with Tamil Nadu Dr. J.Jayalalithaa Fisheries University (TNJFU), successfully organized the Gunvatta Yatra on NABL Accreditation and Its Benefits on 13.02.2025 at TNJFU – Institute of Fisheries Post Graduate Studies, Vaniyanchavadi, Chennai. The event aimed to raise awareness about NABL accreditation, its significance in ensuring quality standards in testing and calibration laboratories, and the accreditation process. The program commenced with a formal inaugural session presided over by eminent dignitaries. Dr. S. Balasundari, Dean (Basic Sciences),TNJFU-IFPGS, Chennai, delivered the Welcome Address, followed by a Felicitation Address by Mr. Ranjith Kumar, Deputy Director, NABL Regional Centre, Bengaluru. The Presidential Address was given by Dr. N. Felix, Vice Chancellor, TNJFU, Nagapattinam, highlighting the importance of NABL accreditation in enhancing the credibility of research and laboratory practices. The inaugural session concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Amit Ranjan, Assistant Professor, TNJFU-IFPGS, Chennai, followed by a group photograph with all attendees.

The technical sessions commenced with Mr. Ranjith Kumar delivering a session on  NABL Accreditation and its Benefits. His insightful presentation covered the essential aspects of NABL accreditation, its role in laboratory quality assurance, and its impact on research institutions. The session was followed by an engaging Q&A segment, where participants had the opportunity to clarify their queries. The second technical session, led by Ms. Sangavi, Executive Officer, NABL Regional Centre, Bengaluru, focused on the Accreditation Process and How to Apply for NABL Accreditation through the Online Portal. Participants were given a step-by-step guide on the application process, documentation requirements, and assessment criteria. This session concluded with an interactive Q&A session, providing further clarity on the procedures involved. The final session of the event was conducted by Mr. Ranjith Kumar,who provided a comprehensive guide on How to Apply for NABL Assessor through the Online Portal. The session was highly informative for professionals seeking to become NABL assessors, and it was followed by another interactive Q&A session.

The event concluded marking the successful completion of the Gunvatta Yatra on NABL Accreditation and Its Benefits. A total of 31 participants including faculty members, research scholars, and laboratory personnel gained valuable insights into NABL accreditation and its importance in ensuring high-quality laboratory standards. The university extends its gratitude to esteemed speakers from the NABL-QCI regional office in Bengaluru and all attendees fortheir enthusiastic participation, making the event a grand success.
