Research Services

  • The laboratory provides a good platform to undertake research by M.F.Sc and Ph.D students of the Department of Fish Quality Assurance and Management to complete their dissertation.
  • This laboratory provides an opportunity for the scientists across the world to take up professional attachment training on aquatic food safety, as part of collaborative or cooperative agreements.
  • The laboratory supports research students of other departments/ research institutions/ universities by providing bench facilities to undertake their research by utilizing the sophisticated with state-of-art facilities at nominal cost.
  • The laboratory scientists can take up collaborative projects with other departments/ institutions/ universities by utilizing the facilities with mutual agreements.

Important Research Areas

  • Chemical hazards associated with aquatic foods viz. viz., heavy metal, antibiotics and pesticides residues.
  • Authentication of processed fish and fish products by molecular methods.
  • Nutraceuticals from marine origin viz. collagen peptides, chitooligosaccharides, fucoidan.
