"Harnessing the Science of Fisheries for Food, Nutrition and Livelihood"

Technologies Developed : 6

The following cost effective diagnostic kits have been developed for the diagnosis of diseases in commercially important shrimp

  • Nested PCR diagnostic kit for Whitespot syndrome virus ( WSSV) in shrimp
  • Nested PCR diagnostic kit for Hepatopancreatic parvovirus (HPV) in shrimp
  • PCR diagnostic kit for Monodon baculovirus (MBV) in shrimp
  • Multiplex PCR diagnostic kit for Enterocytozoon hepatopenaei (EHP) in shrimp

Field level kits

  • Latex agglutination and Lateral flow assay kits have been developed for the viral pathogens infecting cultured shrimp
  • Loop Mediated Isothermal Amplification (LAMP) based kit for rapid detection of Hepatopancreatic parvovirus (HPV) in shrimp
