Objectives

  • To extend full – fledged analytical and diagnostic support to the fish farmers in terms of water quality analysis, microbiological and molecular diagnosis of diseases in aquatic organisms
  • To undertake surveillance and monitoring on the prevalence of diseases in aquaculture across the state
  • To develops cost-effective diagnostics for the existing and emerging diseases of commercial importance
  • To undertake research on the existing and emerging issues in aquatic animal health to evolve suitable scientific, eco-friendly and practical solutions for the benefit of the aqua farmers
  • To offer training on field level and advanced methods of diagnosis of diseases of commercial importance to the hatchery technicians and farmers
  • Dissemination of disease management practices through Information and communication technology (ICT) tools, trainings, on- field demonstrations for prevention and control of the diseases in aquaculture
