"Harnessing the Science of Fisheries for Food, Nutrition and Livelihood"
The laboratory was started as a Self – financing unit in the year 1999 to cater to the diagnostic needs of the farmers undertaking aquaculture across the state. The lab has been upgraded as the State Referral Laboratory for Aquatic Animal Health with the state-of-art diagnostic facilities to undertake advanced diagnosis of diseases in commercially important fish and shell fish. The lab has well-trained staff with international exposure to undertake diagnosis, research and to offer training to the farm, hatchery personnel, students and researchers on aquatic animal health.
