Tamil Nadu Dr.J.Jayalalithaa Fisheries University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Coimbatore Institute of Technology, Coimbatore at TNJFU headquarters on 08.08.2025 for facilitating Students training/post graduate, Doctoral and Faculty research. Dr. N. Jayakumar, Director of Research i/c, TNJFU and Dr. R Nedunchezhian, Professor, Coimbatore Institute of Technology, Coimbatore signed the MoU in the presence of Prof. N. Felix, Vice-Chancellor, TNJFU. Dr. P. Padmavathy, Controller of Examinations (i/c), Dr. Cheryl Antony, Director of Sustainable Aquaculture, faculty members of the College of Fisheries Engineering, and the M.Tech students attended the occasion in person. In addition, faculty members from the constituent units participated online.
The meeting began with a brief presentation by Dr. R. Nedunchezhian, Professor, CIT, Coimbatore, on the programmes and activities undertaken by the Coimbatore Institute of Technology (CIT). The meeting concluded with a general discussion on the challenges faced in the fisheries sector and how Artificial Intelligence and machine leaning could help in addressing these issues.
