Objectives

  • To provide analytical services to fish processors, fish farmers, research institutions, individual or Government to ensure safe and quality supply of fish products.
  • To collaborate with food quality testing laboratories of various States and Central Govt. laboratories to standardize methods of analysis.
  • To achieve and maintain the required levels of accreditation with high standards of accuracy, reliability and credibility in testing.
  • To undertake R&D projects on emerging quality and safety testing of fish products through grand-in aid from Government or Industries.
  • To inculcate technical skill to analytical personnel through various capacity building programmes.
  • To participate in fixation of standard regulatory guidelines for various quality and safety parameters associated with fish and fish products.
